It seems to me, though, that our separate celebrations shouldn’t mean that we can’t share with each other about the things that make us thankful. I’m talking, of course, about handbag things. Most of us probably have to come up with a serious list before we’re rationed our part of the turkey, but since I don’t have any giant roasted poultry to give out, feel free to give me a slightly more fashionable version of that list. The newest trend from high-end designers is posh bicycles. And the best part about all of these bicycles is they are cruisers. Because a $17,000 cruiser makes more sense than a $17,000 road bike, right? First we introduced you to the Hermes Bicycle, a dressed up 3-speed Batavus bike with Hermes stitched leather accents for $3,500. And then there was the ultra pricey Chanel Bicycle, which features two quilted flap bags and a jewelry roll behind the seat, all of which are detachable and can be used as individual shoulder bags for a whopping $17,000 (though the two flap bags and jewelry roll is a nice addition). So now I introduce you to the Gucci Cruiser Bicycle, a bike whose price range fits in between the Hermes and Chanel bikes. This is another cruiser sporting Gucci accents all over. The bronze metal frame does look nice with the chocolate Guccissima leather seat, handlebars, seat pack, and pannier. And the price on this bike, a whopping $6365. I am thinking. This is a bicycle, right? Does Gucci placing some leather on it make it a collectors item? Where would you ride this precious bike to? I totally understand spending money on a racing bike or mountain bike, because there is a seemingly understandable point behind it. But a cruiser. I will tell you what, I am not running out to splurge on this bike. And of all of the designer bicycles, I would opt for the Hermes, because it is the CHEAPEST. Hermes Replica Bag Just when temperatures begin their nosedive to frigidity in most areas of the northern hemisphere, we get a nice, fat reminder that none of us are going anywhere interesting for vacation this holiday season: Resort collections. And when I say that “none of us” are, I mean that I’m not. It’s sort of like the “royal we,” but with no people. Back in 2006, Prada made lots of waves among handbag aficionados with their ruched Gaufré handbags. Rendered in super-supple lambskin, the design was a great example of how texture can be achieved through clever design, even within the sometimes austere Prada aesthetic. The bags were neutral but still interesting to look at, and the combination made them some of my favorites that the brand has ever produced. Gaufré’s initial production run was only a few season, but now they’re back in new colors and shapes for Fall/Winter 2010. It took us a few days (my guess would be that lighting issues delayed the release of the show photographs), but we rustled up a few pictures of the handbags from Marc Jacobs Spring 2011 for your viewing pleasure. And a pleasure they are – those who prefer seriousness to fun in their accessories need not apply. These bags only make up part of what is always an enormous accessories collection, but it seems as though Jacobs is right on board with the multicolor trend that has emerged quickly in Europe, as well as the continuing trend for smaller, more streamlined and structured bags. This is perhaps the most wearable collection of runway bags Jacobs has presented in a few seasons, and they’ll almost certainly do well at retail. Cheap Wallets In a show with such an astounding number of beautiful handbags, I barely know where to begin. Who would have thought after last season’s tribal tassel disaster that Marc Jacobs would come up with such a feminine, pretty, and functional collection of handbags at Louis Vuitton. I would have been the last one to guess it – in fact, I remarked to a friend last week that I was barely even looking forward to the Vuitton show. But that’s the genius of Marc Jacobs. Just when you think that you’ve got him pegged, when you think that you know what he’s going to do and how you’re going to feel about it, he veers off in the opposite direction at full speed and gives you the last thing you could have ever thought he would come up with. This season, he took us straight back to 1940s France, with tea-length tweeds, tailored waists, and bosom-hugging dirndls. The look reminded me of the French farm girls in the opening sequence of Inglourious Basterds, but with an obviously high-end, Parisian twist. It was a beautiful collection, made only more beautiful by the gobs and gobs of gloriously detailed, traditionally wrought handbags in every material that one could imagine: crocodile, ostrich, leather, fur, lace, satin, beads, you name it. Almost all of the bags were plays on the traditional Speedy shape, with a few wristlets thrown in for good measure. Many Vuitton fans have been lamenting the loss of a certain amount of tradition from the staid fashion house – for those customers, this collection is a shot of sunshine straight from handbag heaven.

Imagine walking into Hermes New York thinking you could walk away with a little coinbag. You walk into the store feeling completely out of place. ‘My shoes are merely designer brand not premium designer, my shirt is from Banana Republic not off the runway, my bag is not a Hermes’, you think to yourself. Peering into the glass counter you encounter the perfect accessory to walk away with, a beaver coin purse. Must be about $300 you think to yourself, which of course is expensive, but hey, it is Hermes. You ask the SA with conviction about the price but in your mind know you can afford it. Right? Wrong! ‘$900 she states’. You sink back into your Banana Republic top and realize you will leave with a Twilly. You think you can walk into Hermes and spend a small amount of money, think again. Your best bet at a ‘cheap’ item is a Hermes Scarf Twilly, costing you around $125. While the Hermes Ostrich Hedgehog and Crocodile Tortoise Coinbags are the most adorable coinbags ever, the price is even more un-affordable in my world right now. Thanks to billbill for the pictures and to wongnumber for the price estimations. The estimation for the snail is around $852, though possibly upwards of $2163 seeing that it is croc. The adorable ostrich hedgehog will be similarly priced since it is also exotic. After about $600, I can not justify these, but if you can, do it- they are so amazingly cute! Replica Hermes Handbags In a very pointed reminder that, yes, there are still people out there with plenty of cash to spend on handbags, luxury giant Hermes has decided to open a temporary outpost on Easthampton to cater to the elite that can still afford the kind of house that gives them the ability to use “summer” as a verb. Well, if this CraigsList ad for temporary sales associates is to be believed, anyway. Women’s Wear Daily seems to confirm it, although I’m cheap and don’t have a subscription, so I can’t see the entire article. What does this tell us? Well, it tells us that the Hamptons are still a little annoying, in a Real Housewives of New York, fabulously awful way. It also tells us that there’s hope for our economy yet – keep spending, obscenely rich people! And keep going on vacation! Hermes wants to give you a way to do both, simultaneously, and if that isn’t the American way, then I don’t know what is.

We are never huge fans of nylon bags at PurseBlog. In certain situations I can completely understand why it is the best option, but typically, it is not a material I would choose. Yet sometimes a designer finds a way to combine nylon with other materials and make it appealing. That is what the Marc Jacobs Rubik Quilted Debbie Mini Bag brings us, a combination of materials on a cute design. We are Marc Jacobs fan girls (ok, mostly Amanda is) and many of his designs are both playful and beautiful. The mini bag style is very on trend right now. But the mini bag is not for everyone. Over the weekend we took a trip to Brooklyn to see our favorite Real Housewives of New York couple (look for their feature this Friday on PurseBlog!). After a delightful meet-up, we headed to brunch and then to explore Brooklyn. Here are a few things I learned: spring has only pretended to arrive because I was freezing, Brooklyn is much calmer than Manhattan, and you can see the most amazing views of NYC from Brooklyn. Obviously there is so much more to Brooklyn, but those three things stuck with me the most and clearly the most obvious. I hopped out of the car to have Vlad snap a photo of me with my black Hermes Birkin. I love this bag. It is the 35cm size so I can really fit a ton of items in there and it the epitome of casual meets chic. This is one of the bags in my collection that works with every outfit and literally can do no fashion wrong. Fergie and the rest of the Black Eyed Peas made an appearance at the Paris Menswear Fashion Week’s Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2010 show at Le 104 on Thursday, June 25th. The only way to attend a designer show is decked out in their items from head to toe. Fergie had on the most amazing outfit from the Fall 2009 Louis Vuitton collection. Her dress was amazing, but her accessories topped the outfit off so perfectly that I cannot stop staring. This is why Fergie makes our weekend obsession list, as our love of the Louis Vuitton Satin Plisse Matelasse and the Louis Vuitton Cancan Shoes is taken to a new level. After Vlad and Shannon gave us a preview of the LV Fall 2009 line, I have been having a LV itch for the Louis Vuitton Satin Plisse Matelasse. Now I am obsessed. This clutch is similar to the Limelight that everyone went nuts over, but it takes it to a new level, adding studs, a color combo, and satin and leather combo as well. Gucci Belts Replica A few steps away from Louis Vuitton was the Hermes Venice, Italy store. While my Hermes collection merely contains a handful of scarves, Twilly’s, and a beautiful bracelet, I am on the hunt for a Birkin. The Hermes store in Venice is quaint, but still packs a big punch. Downstairs are all of the scarves, bracelets, and small goods, while upstairs there was clothing and of course, glorious bags. A lovely SA showed me around and delighted my arm with a Blue Jean Hermes Lindy, which I had a really hard time passing up. Hopefully, next time I am in Venice, I can walk into Hermes with my own Birkin in hand.

While shoe shopping yesterday, I encountered a sales associate that very much wanted to tell me all about the trends for Fall 2010. I worked retail in college, so I never mind letting someone do their sales spiel without interruption, even if I already know what it’s going to contain. This time, though, I had to stop the poor guy when he got to the part about studs. I’m so over studs. When I told him that, he made a face like I had just kicked his puppy and sounded appalled that I would make such a bold declaration. I hadn’t given much specific thought to whether or not I still thought studs were cool, but when the sales associate was waving a pyramid-covered combat boot in my face that I had no intention of ever trying on, let alone buying, it became clear – I’m done with them. But is fashion done with the trend, and more importantly, are you? With the appearance of this Burberry Studded Leather Travel Bag on Net-a-Porter yesterday morning, it looks like some retailers hope we’ll buy in to heavy metal for at least a few months longer. Time to put an end to the suspense. We previously teased you with the orange box, now it’s time to show off the goods. This being Megs’ first dive into Hermes exotics, the Hermes Kelly Long Wallet (officially: Money Holder) in orange matte alligator is the quintessential combination of skin and tone from the House of Hermes. Megs had been contemplating to go exotic with Hermes for a while – when our Hermes SA contacted us and we learned about this beauty’s immediate availability, there was not much hesitation. The wallet is made from matte Mississippi alligator and dyed in Hermes’ signature orange color. The gator version is denoted by the small square printed by the Hermes logo. This exotic skin is mainly reserved for Hermes’ smaller leather goods, larger bags are very rare in alligator. This Kelly Long variety also comes in other leathers. It is available in mysore goatskin, box calf and epsom calfskin in a broad variety of colors. Prices for the regular leather versions range around $2,350. Needless to say, this exotic version is a wee bit more expensive. Inquire with your local Hermes boutique if interested. Hermes Bracelet Replica We first caught a glimpse of Prada’s knitted leather during the brand’s Fall/Winter 2010 runway show in March, and I’ve been hungrily awaiting their arrival at retail ever since. Well, they’re here! Almost. Prada has close-up pictures of a few styles and colors on its website, and these Prada Knitted Leather Clutches in particular do not disappoint. Sadly, my favorite color combination isn’t pictured, but if you imagine the one on the right with red instead of tan, you get the idea. The main thing that I’m taking away from this first look, however, is that I’m surprised by how much I like the black version – you don’t lose as much of the sense of texture as I had assumed when the design is rendered in a single, dark color. In my opinion, the Burberry Westcott Shoulder Bag is a very clear case of a bag that looks much better in person than it does online. This is the best picture I could find to see the immense detail of the bag’s construction, but it still looks stiff and kind of messy, don’t you think? In reality, it’s anything but. The neat rows of buttery soft leather ruffles are cropped close enough to the bag to not look silly, but still long enough to give the bag tons of texture that makes it much more than just another black leather hobo. The leather that makes up the base of the bag is just as soft as that that makes up the ruffle decoration, which gives the bag a slouch that would probably break in even more with a bit of use. The strap was plenty long to carry the hobo easily and it also has an extra crossbody strap, if that’s your think. The bag is big but not oversized, and still muted enough, with ruffles and all, to use as an everyday bag that could be carried to work. On the whole, I think Burberry did a beautiful job with this bag, and it’s really too bad that it doesn’t show up well in photos. Gucci Replica The latest Gucci Spring and Summer Handbag Collection may not very creative in style, but we cannot deny that Gucci manages to keep each of Gucci Bag designs functional. This Gucci Techno Horsebit Large Shoulder Flap Bag is not very extraordinary or atypical in its style, but it surely belongs to one of the functional bags which will give you great convenience and comfort. This Gucci purse is coated in beige/ebony GG fabric and trimmed with brown leather, thus the neutral color makes it easily match with most your closet. There are very minimal adornments all thought out. The horsebit detail at front and the tassels with bamboo detail dangling from the handle are enough to put some sophistication and refined glamour to its overall design. The brown leather flap creates a touch of distinctiveness to finish a very special carryall. As said, this Gucci Techno Horsebit Large Shoulder Flap Bag is practical. Holding the dimension of 15.7″L x 6.3″W x 11.8″H, it is spacious to carry your thousand essentials. In addition, cotton linen lining, inside zip, cell phone and pda pockets are considerately designed to complete its function. Thanks to the single handle with 7″ drop and detachable shoulder strap with 8″ drop, this purse fits to be carried on the shoulder, in the hand or across the body.

It is a time-honored tradition of Gucci to trim shiny nickel hardware on its designer handbags, and this doing is appreciated by many Gucci fans. Once again this fashion brand used this tragedy and released the new bag—“Techno Horsebit” Large Shoulder Flap Bag, which successfully combines the horsebit detail and the tassel with bamboo detail. It is determined to be another Gucci icon bag pattern. This Gucci Bag exists in four styles; one is made from grey leather, one from beige and ebony GG fabric, one from cobalt blue leather and one from black python. This time I will focus on the presentation of this “Techno Horsebit” in black python. It is exotic glamorous. The bag is sized at 40 x 16 x 30 cm, a most capacity for a single shoulder bag. Opening the bag via a snap and flap closure with horsebit detail, you will touch soft cotton linen lining and see two inside zip pockets for holding mobile phone and PDA. Gucci Replica Bags A new fringe bag that has sparked all sort of debate is the Prada Fringe Tote that I once really despised and then decided I liked *on Victoria Beckham*. Between those stars are the key words. Blasphemy some shouted! But can any of us help the fact that VB looks beyond stunning in nearly anything that goes on her body?? She has that curse, and I would definitely take on that curse if anyone asked me to. But this new little rendition has me in and my opinion will surely not change at any time. Appearing as if it is straight from an episode of That 70′s Show, the Prada Napa Messenger Bag is straight up fugilicious. Sure the Prada name is flung onto this Napa leather bag, but the fringed shoulder strap is a hideous attempt at bringing fringe sexiness back. The only shot they have at making this bag partially appealing is the fact that the fringe shoulder strap is detachable. This means that when the richest of the rich happen to have a dress up 70′s theme party the bag will suit them, and then one day, they can take the monstrosity of a fringe strap off and give it to their pure bred pup as a chew toy.

I know that the Stephen Sprouse collections have been a bit controversial among the Louis Vuitton crowd, but for some reason, I can’t help but like them. Perhaps it’s because I’m a fan of the Sprouse aesthetic in general, or maybe because my generation is probably the target audience for pop-art fashion, or maybe it’s just because my personal taste can, at times, venture to the ridiculous. For whatever reason, I wish I had unlimited funds and a reason to own something like the Louis Vuitton Monogram Graffiti Neverfull GM. As with all Neverfulls, I wish the strap was thicker, and if it was it would make a perfect school bag for a college kid that has everything (and I knew one or two of those during my undergrad years). Because of the utter ridiculousness of the bag – orange writing over brown and tan monogram – it’s one of those bags that you really wouldn’t need to try and match to anything. It’s iconic enough on it’s own that the only thing I would seriously advise against wearing it with would be another bold pattern. Gucci Belts If you pay attention to the news of Gucci House, you must have known that Gucci came up with its new Spring and Summer accessories. Having had a look at its new bags, I had to say most handbags only changed in materials but not in style, not very innovative. Nevertheless, this Gucci Sigrid Evening Bag should be a creative design, exquisite yet feminine, which will fascinate many Gucci aficionados. Crafted out of the stylish patent leather in this season, this Gucci Clutch is available in sophisticated grey and timeless black, and both of them can easily go along with most your outfits for some special occasions such as evening party or some banquet. The nickel hardware, metal and enamel detail are beset on the diagonal of this rectangle shape evening bag, revealing eye-catching yet sumptuous effect to its totality. The whole design is generous but exalted and noble. So it is definitely a perfect accessory to make sure a rise in status. Coming from the snap closure shows inside mirror, inside pocket as well as fine cotton linen lining which together complete its practicality. I am actually surprised. I have to say anytime I think Burberry, the traditional check print comes to mind. I am sure many of you think the same way. So honestly, when I saw the Burberry Metallic Leather Shoulder Bag, I was wondering if I forgot to put my contacts in this morning. I guess I am just not used to a Burberry handbag or piece of clothing without the traditional check print. Ok, I’m over it, let’s talk about the bag. The pewter metallic leather bag has silver hardware, studded plate trip, and contrast shiny leather panels. I like when I see brands branch out and try new things. I am just wondering if we are all ready for this kind of change. The bag certainly had a modern feel which is so polar opposite to the traditional pattern we are all accustom to. I have to say I appreciate the effort behind the design and the desire to appeal to a new market. However, I think the bag looks a little too modern for me. Actually, now that I think of it, the bag looks a little too Judy Jetson for my liking. Yet, at the same time, with the right outfit, you could totally make the bag work. Dubbed the “It Bag of Spring 2008″ the Burberry Warrior has created quite the hype. Seen on the arms of countless celebrities (and all over the set of the hit show Gossip Girl), this bag has taken the handbag world by storm. The bag started its journey on the Burberry runway in beige. Christopher Bailey, the Creative Director of Burberry, cited the Luxury Warrior as his inspiration for spring and this can be seen with his metal stud design used on this bag. The Burberry Warrior implements dark silver stud details on top of black leather. The top features a wide panel with drawstring pulls that go through eyelets to secure. The bag will fit snug on your shoulder. I saw this bag and loved it. It is so refreshing to see something different and eclectic from a brand that you begin to know what to expect. This bag was a great addition to a brand that at times has been predictable Replica Hermes When you look at the camouflage, fur and fringe that dominate Prada’s fall collection, it can be difficult to remember that Prada is a label whose bread and butter is basic, somewhat conservative leather bags.
